Humans of Y-kampus: Minni

Anatomy and physiology teacher and a coach, Minni talks about her favourite tools.

This week in Humans of Y-kampus we meet Minni:

”I teach a course about Anatomy and Physiology in TAMK. It has a strong theoretical part and is quite demanding for the students. Two years ago I participated in a training in Y-kampus. It was for teachers to learn about coaching methods. I often think about what would be the best way to help the students to learn. Nowadays, the coaching methods I learned form a part of my teaching tools. For some groups and courses teaching fits better and for others coaching is the way. The most satisfying part in utilizing coaching methods as a teacher is to see the students challenging each other to learn more. A great way to learn is through dialogue. I think I have succeeded when I see students taking responsibility of themselves and their teams. It’s a great feeling when I know that I’ve helped them to get started and they continue working independently as a team. It’s really fascinating to follow-up the development curve of a learning team.”
